Beach Lessons

Teachers and assistants completed specialist ‘beach school’ training at the end of August and some of the classes have already had a lesson on the beach. The outdoor space has the benefit of allowing the children to move about more freely while they learn. We hope that, by participating in some lessons on our local beach, we will improve pupil well-being and create a wealth of learning opportunities, memories and experiences that will stay with the children for life.

Gifts for Our Playground

We would like to say a big Thank You to the members of Ballywalter Community Action Group. Their application to NDABC’s Recycling Community Investment Fund was successful, and as a result they have presented us with the generous gifts of a lovely bumble bee shaped blackboard for our outdoor play area and a colourful collection of musical pipes which have been fitted to the blue fence in the KS2 playground. These make a lovely addition to our play areas and the children are really enjoying them.

New Football Kit

A huge thank you to Magellan Aerospace for their very kind sponsorship of our new football kit. Pictured with their teacher/coach Mr Claxton and Principal Mrs Craig are the P6/P7 boys team. Also included are Mr Jason Latimer and Mr Vincent Martin of Magellan Aerospace and Mr Andrew Davidson, past pupil and employee of Magellan.

New Outdoor Play Area

The pupils are loving the new outdoor play facilities which were officially opened by Conor of P1, the Viking swing and climbing frames have proved very popular with all the pupils and have really livened up their lunchtimes.
